"...the violinist, with immense technique and great expressiveness, dazzled the audience and the orchestra by performing four encore pieces with a virtuosity and expressiveness that competed on equal terms... a tremendous ovation erupted with the audience in the stalls cheering while standing."

BIOGRAPHY
Erzhan Kulibaev, a graduate of the Central School of the Moscow Conservatory, is one of the few contemporary violinists whose violin and pedagogical paradigm integrates the tradition and teachings of the two most distinguished violinists of the 20th century: David Oistrakh and Jascha Heifetz. For many years, he studied with Zakhar Bron, a disciple of David Oistrakh, at the Reina Sofía School of Music, and later refined his mastery with Pierre Amoyal, a student of Jascha Heifetz, at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg.
He has been awarded in prestigious competitions, including the Henryk Wieniawski Competition in Poznan, the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest, the First Prize and Tango Prize at the Buenos Aires International Competition, the "Washington Award," the Manhattan International Music Competition in New York, and the Berliner International Music Competition. In 2006, 2010, and 2011, he was honored with the Honorary Diploma from Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain.
Acclaimed for his expressiveness and virtuosity, Kulibaev has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, and has collaborated with maestros such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, David Geringas, Maxim Vengerov, Schlomo Mintz, and Ana Duczmal-Mróz.
Kulibaev’s career includes performances with ensembles such as the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Poznan Philharmonic, the Royal Camerata Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, and the Spanish orchestras Symphony of Tenerife and Symphony of Castilla y León.
Erzhan Kulibaev complements his activity as a soloist with teaching, thereby enriching his art and connection with music. He is currently a professor at the Katarina Gurska Center and ESMAR in Valencia, and gives master classes at institutions around the world, including the Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón, the Huadong Music City School of Arts in Beijing, and The New World School of Arts in Miami.
